Stern Thrusters
Stern thrusters are ideal for power boats dramatically increasing the manoeuvrability of boats, helping to counter act the effects of wind and tide. When integrated with your bow thrusters and connected to a proportional control system very precise movements of the boat can be performed.
Stern thrusters have now been designed to allow for installation between outboard legs on power boats and retractable units can be installed on sail boats. To gain total control of your boat the solution is to install a stern thruster in addition to the bow thruster, leaving the main engines to propel the boat forward and backward as they were intended.
The Side Power dual joystick and the docking control panel provides control of both thrusters with just one hand. Dual thrusters combined with a remote control (or conveniently placed extra panels) are the best combination to make docking easy for a single-handed boater.
