Repairing the gel coat on larger areas is a complete different problem. To get a quality gel-coat repair, you need to prepare the damaged area properly. The damaged gel is often removed back up the repair with a layer of laminate, re-fair the area, apply multiple coats of matching gel coat, sand smooth and machine polish , the end result is an invisible repair.
