Osmosis Treatment
Osmosis is a problem found in boats as water penetrates the gel coat and gets into the
laminate in a well layered up boat this can take many years to develop and with the use of
quality resins can take decades to evolve.
Once osmosis has developed it may not need repairing straight away it can sometimes be
left for many years before remedial action is required. When it is finally treated it is important
to get it done by a company well versed in treating this condition. If you get i8t treated in the
wrong place you may find you need to retreat it a few years later. Our preferred method of
treatment is when the hull is dry to apply a layer of laminate prior to the epoxy coatings. We
first did this 20 years ago and have to date not heard of one of our re-laminated boats having
recurrent osmotic blistering.

"We recently left Palma de Mallorca , bound for the South of France. On the North coast of Mallorca the seas built up to 3 meters or so , sloppy and out of the SW.The vessel was incredible stable underway and although there was a certain amount of pitchin"
